| Post subject: | Stunted, dying beans?! |
Hey guys, so my system has been growing most everything I've tried to plant in it thus far (herbs, green leafies, tomatoes, peppers, flowers). But one species of beans (first pic) are terribly stunted with little or dried up leafage. And they seem to be growing MUCH slower than everything else. I use Maxicrop plus iron weekly and feed my fish tons of nitrogen rich food -- have any recommendations of what else I can do to give them a boost? Here are pics of my system and some dying vs. happy bean plants. I've found beans to be a bit temperamental , though not sure why yet. I have some thriving in one system and almost dead in an adjacent one (planted at same time). possibilities: too much salt - though both systems are salted to the same PPT - not measured lately though too much nitrate - though I have high nitrates in both systems not enough potassium not enough phosphate Sorry can't be more help, though would be interested to here others experience. |

They are booming in one of my systems. Try adding a bit of phosphorous |

maybe rock phosphate? there is another thread going on where we are debating if, when and should anyone add P to their system. But noone seems to disagree that rock phosphate is a good way to add it. |
