| Post subject: | Tomato Plant Question |
How long will a tomato plant produce inside a barrel system? (We're talking about within an indoor system with all the bugs worked out.) I'm a little irritated that I've spent the past couple hours looking through Google and a few other search engines and I can't find a single link or answer to this question. Does anyone have any information about this? |

I have never grown anything indoors but I imagine there would be a lot of factors. Also when you say all the bugs worked out does that mean you are running specific lighting for fruiting plants like tomatoes? I remember reading a little about different lights for greens vs flowering/fruiting plants when I was looking at LED lights (just out of curiosity) |

It really depends on the type of tomato. Determinate will not last very long, they'll all fruit at once. However, there are many other species of indeterminate that'll just keep growing for a few seasons, however, they'll get very long and spindly looking. And I'd imagine tricky to grow indoors under lights. If you want to see how big some can get, do a google search for giant tree tomato. |

Youj could get two seasons out of indeterminates but disease might get them before then |
