Post subject:  Black/Brown leaves

Have my indoor system now running for about 3 weeks now.
Been spotting discoloration of the leaves. I started my system with strawberry plants from my garden.
New leaves started to show quickly so something is working. The new leaves are much lighter than the older ones.(maybe needs some iron for that)
What could be the reason for the black/brown leaves?

Pics look like a leaf blight of some sort. Is the surface of the media wet or dry normally? The water level may be set to high which would encourage fungal diseases.

It's pretty common for a new system to be missing some nutrients, can't really tell from the pics in this case.

The water level is about 2cm under the surface.

2 cm might be a bit to close to the surface. Basically if the surface is moist you should lower the water level a bit. Try to avoid any splashing that could get water on the leaves as well.
