Anything in the Alliums (onions etc) grows like gangbusters. I've done pretty well with beets and I know others have done well with carrots. Just make sure you clean them up before eating - same as with a dirt garden. |

People have done it. Personally, I would build a wicking bed for root vegetables. They are far less maintenance, and root vegetables like their soil. |

Spring onions and beetroots grow very well for me in a river gravel + clay balls mix, carrots not so well- I'll wait until I have some wicking beds before trying them again. I have some Yacons (earth apples) in ATM and they are certainly growing very well on the top half, but I have not yet harvested any to see how the tubers look. |

Ive found when using ipad or iphone its easier just to go straight to the forum through safari instead of using tapatalk. |

I'm trying sweet potatos, so far they have been very resilient and growing well, in fact probably my best performing plant. |

I guess I'll find out, mind you i plan to eat em on a regular basis they survive in the ground at home but havn't taken over but thats probably more due to water or lack thereof |
