My posts seem to spark a lot of debate, from salt to the dissociation of ions in aqueous solution. All I want to know is what the hell is wrong with my system?? See pics n comments. Help me please cause I'm missing out on the best part of the growing season and have learnt nothing helpful.

And more. So you can see it is affecting different plants in different ways. Perhaps multiple problems?

Looking at the pics I believe a good portion of the plants are showing signs of Potassium deficiency. If your pH is below 7.0 then you could add Potassium bicarbonate (Eco-Fungicide from Bunnings) at one LEVEL Teaspoon per 1000L of water. If it's above 7.0 then apply the Pot' bicarb' as a foliar spray, as per the rate on the bottle. If you are currently buffering your pH up make sure to alternate between Hydrated lime and Pot' bicarb. If you continuously buffer with just one you will create an inbalance and lock the other out, even if it's present in the system. I've found that dosing twice with the lime then the Pot bicarb on the third occasion works best. Cheers. |

P.S... also possibly a Calcium deficiency looking at the Tom's... but the Hydrated lime will help with that. |

Thanks again mr damage I don't believe it is calcium, I think I may have overdone the calcium by overdosing with ag lime which prob got me into this mess in the 1st place. I have added 8 tsp Eco fungicide and will source a more pure form of potassium in my local area. I can almost hear my plants sighing with relief... |

Could it be a case of expecting too much too soon? Im not overly impressed with the growth in my system yet, it is improving, but slowly. This time next year I'm sure it will be different... |

Nah skeggly my system was producing amazingly, even through winter despite it being its 1st season. All of a sudden I got a bug infestation and then growth just halted. Just goes to show that if yr plants are healthy you get less pests and disease. Coincidentally, I have been sick for about 3 weeks. I never get sick. Eating predominantly from my AP system I'm pretty convinced I an suffering from the same problem. I am also the only family member who eats the majority of my diet from it and I am the only person who is sick. And that answers a whole lot of questions I was thinking of posting... |

To me it looks like a nutrient burn or a lockout... When did you last check your water chemistry? |
