May not have anything to do with AP. I've seen flower buds die because of air pollution and other stress. Sometimes later buds will progress just fine. This is pretty common with Phalaenopsis Orchids - see bud blast in this article http://www.orchiddynasty.com/newsite_th/?page_id=1774. What kind of flowers are you trying to grow? Any pictures of your setup?

Cheers

It is a tomato plant

My guess is it's got to do with the temperature. what's the temperature there? Sometimes tomatoes won't set and the flowers will drop like this. This should give you some ideas of this and other things that can cause problems as well.

You could try pollinating the tomatoes yourself to get better fruit set if it's just pollination issues.

If it's due to cool temps then you may be able to find Tomato and Pepper Set which contains hormones to help cause fruit to set. It's fairly common in the Pacific Northwest of the US to have problems like this due to cool weather.

This is an example of the tomato set spray - http://www.burpee.com/Gardening-supplies/garden-growers/tomato-vegetable-blossom-set-spray-8-oz-prod001215.html?cid=CSEGoogle&CAWELAID=820602087&catargetid=1823377810&cadevice=c&cagpspn=pla&gclid=CKDKsta-orsCFRSGfgoddzgAww

Hope this helps :thumbright:

The plants are inside a balcony with no stove.. the temp outside is 50-53 F/9-12C. Today I bough an air stove and set the temp to be 68-71F / 20-22C.. Is that ok?
Shall I wait and see?

Temperature wise that should be fine. I've had good luck with temps over 60 F but it depends on the tomato variety.

I'm a little concerned about the air stove. If I understand right, this burns wood and could produce Carbon Monoxide which could be fatal if the levels get high enough inside your home. Your space sounds like it is an enclosed balcony which is part of your home. If the stove isn't vented I wouldn't take this chance.

Glad to hear that rqutub. That will work. Sometimes they don't have the best thermostat inside small heaters. If they have a mechanical thermostat you can hook them up to a digital thermostat like this one - http://www.amazon.com/Lux-Heating-Cooling-Programmable-Thermostat/dp/B000E7NYY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386649990&sr=8-1&keywords=lux+win100

I had to do this with my electric heater in the greenhouse because the temperature control was horrible. It may not be needed for yours but your heater instruction manual may tell you if this is ok to do if you decide to go this route.

It's still a bit early but since you've added the heater, has there been any improvement?
