G'day all.

I've found that over the last few days the snow peas and to some extent the broad beans have all their leaves looking droopy.

Looks like leaves on a plant that needs drink during summer, you know?
They don't have that crispness, but they're not actually hanging completely limp.

The celery, parsley and a few other herbs are looking 100% fine.

Any ideas?

The tank could probably do with a top up, but apart from that nothings really changed. I've really gotta go get another test kit test tube!

snow peas like lime/dolamite if there is a defficentcy the 'delecate' ones will tell you what they need/don't need!
I am getting that we have more indicators with the types of plants grown
in the systems we have.
Not just the fish.

Following on from your idea C1, i did some research.

Ideal PH is from 6.0 to 7.0
Magnesium requirement seem quite high hence maybe the dolomite (a carbonate mineral with the chemical formula of CaMg(CO3)2)

but then the Mg def. would show up as yellowing veins?

does anyone know if 20C air temp will make the snowpeas a bit droopy?

I know what your talking about I think Steve, sometimes my silverbeet does a similar thing, quite cool day yet it gets very droopy as though there is a severe lack of water, even though there's lots of water.. But sorry can;t help with why it might be that your peas are doing it..

There are a couple of pests and diseases for snow peas listed here, none for droopiness tho

I keep getting spam emails that claim to help droopiness. Next time I get one I will forward it on to you Steve.

My silverbeet is droopy today, yet quite a mild day. Might be the same thing as you are saying EB.

Steve, I wonder with our slightly warmer, sunnier weather this week, if salt inhibiting moisture uptake/excretion could be an issue?

I am noticing much more water being used by now maturing brassics. If u have a bit of residual salt in ur system, perhaps the bigger plants can't quite take in water quick enough or emit the salt quick enough to maintain good plant rigidity. Just a thought with no science basis on my part at all.
