Found a ginger root/thing in the cupboard that is sprouting. I see from a search that some peeps have been successful at growing. It has a few shoots. Should I break it up, or leave as it is and put just under surface?

If you have a flood and drain bed I would put it in there with the bulb above the flood line. Just my thoughts as I have not grown it before

I've got some Thai ginger in a large pot that is doing well with manual watering with AP water, but haven't decided if I'll put it in the ground and continue to irrigate from the AP system, or put it in a GB.

Last year I grew a lot of ginger in my AP system very successfully

I used a separate container as a wicking bed in my AP growbed.

I filled the container with perlite, but you could use coir/vermiculite/compost/dirt

Sabrina was on the radio today saying it needs very moist and warm conditions

+1 for Sabrina.

I have a very moist Constant flood bed, and it is warm, so it shold work. Thinking I'll put half at the water interface, and the other between the water level and the surface.
