Post subject:  Plants bolting to seed?

Ok so some know-it-all reckons that my system has a nutrient deficiency cause all my plants are bolting to seed. So I went through the denial stage and now I'm thinking about it... Most of my plants are bolting and I don't know if this is a function if the following:

1) they are mostly winter veg and are expected to do this around about now
2) they are not getting enough water. I flood every 30 min for 15 min
3) there IS a nutrient deficiency?

Any ideas?

Anyone sick of chard yet!? Its a good thing I know... :headbang:

Nope, you're not alone Carolin... most of my silver beet is bolting at the moment...

Purely related to the uncommonly warm winter... and early hot spells IMO...

P.S ... I'm running constant flood....

Same up our way to mate, a lot of things bolting around the yard, Bok Choy and some lettuce in the AP systems flowering way too soon.

In NT the same, I had bok choi which was just 1-2 inch tall and already flowering. Lettuces need to be harvested very early, most of it goes to the rabbits, they don't care about the bitterness. ;-)
