I or worms from my compost, & don't clean them out, I simply placed them in the gravel (for the plants not the fish). I've read black soldier fly grubs are 'clean'& don't need cleaning. Various other grubs can be purged by keeping them in polenta or similar for a few days. If you compost is vegetable matter only I wouldn't worry about it, fish in nature opportunistically eat all sorts of unpurged grubs every day. |

Thanks mate. Lemme try that again. What I am trying to avoid is dumping a bunch of dirt into the tank -so if I have a big pile of dirt full of bugs how do I filter out the bugs ?? That's what I'm having trouble with ... |

look into meal worms and superworms, they can be gutloaded very easily. alot of reptile people use them for feeding their lizards and the like. |
