Growing Tobacco

Well, I searched the forum and found a lot of posts that talked about using tobacco to make a pestacide, but none that mentioned growing it.
I have about 50 tobacco plants that have just sprouted. They are Havana and Oronoco Tobacco. I don't smoke (But I may get a peace pipe to try my tobacco) I just planted it for a novelty and to use as a pestacide. The seeds were $2.40 (US) a pack, so I only spent $4.80 total.
The seeds are easy to harvest, so I am set for life. I am planting a row in my traditional garden, but I will have so many plants left I may put one or two in a Aquaponic grow bed and see how it does.

Does anybody harvest their own seeds?
Half my garden this year is from last years garden...
water mellons, tomatoes, banana peppers, bell peppers, tobasco peppers and cantalop.
Maybe eventually I can plant all plants from my own seeds.

I haven't seem any tobacco in AP. But I have seen some impressive photos of them growing in autopots in hydro. So as long as they can handle the salt. The only real problem I see is that they are a strong pestacide. If those chemicals end up in the water there could be a problem with the fish. Leaves falling off plants and ending up in the water etc.

If you're going tomatoes in the same area they may catch Tobacco Mosaic Virus. Peppers can catch it too. You should research TMV before you grow tobacco (or smoke) near your plants.
