What bugs are these and how do I get rid of them???
I found them under my watermelon plants.

What bugs are these and how do I get rid of them??? I found them under my watermelon plants.

its very hard to tell as the picture isnt great detail. But they look like they could be aphids, if they are soft bodied... white oil will clear them up, avoid getting it in the system though. |

What white oil are you referring too? Car oil, vegetable oil?? |

You could try just hosing them off. That disrupts them a lot |

Vegetable oil with a very mild surfactant is the strongest i would ever try, then only use very sparingly.... you dont want it dripping into your bed. As mantis said, hose them off, but you will need to do this twice a day basically to be effective, so i hope you are retired like most around here. |

Ive used milk and water spray with some success .should be safer than oil |

I just bought a bag of ladybugs and released them in my beds. Most of them flew away, but plenty stayed around long enough to eat them. The aphids were actually running away. I found it a bit humorous. In the future, if you can control the ants, you will prevent the aphids from becoming a problem. I'm not 100% convinced its aphids because of the picture quality, but its a pretty good educated guess IMHO. |

They look like a little beetle to me. Aphids usually hang around the stems. |
