I read that Marigolds are suppose to be somewhat good bug repellent, but being a guy I have no idea what a marigold is. I got this from a furniture store, so there was no labels and I didn't even want to try asking the staff.. Lol

Did I buy the correct flower?

Look like marigolds to me. Not sure if they keep bugs away or if its the bright flowers which attract lady bugs which keep the bad bugs at bay.

Edit: beaten by IceManDude.

i tend to agree, i think they attract more beneficial bugs that deal with the pests

Thanks for the info.

I can deal with most pests, but every year I have problems with these nasty buggers http://utahpests.usu.edu/ipm/htm/orname ... -beetle10/

The beetle form isn't bad, it's their larva that are hard to deal with.

Note that most ornamental marigolds (like the ones pictured) look amazing, but aren't the same as the ones that you need for pest control.

I've just been through this, the only place I found with the right type was seed from Diggers.

Hope this helps :-)
