Post subject:  Corn Planting Depth Information

This is probably on the forms somewhere but could not find it, so I want to ask with the title of the thread the exact issue.

I see corm planted in Aquaponics systems all the time - what depth do you plant the seed?
Just above the wet zone? Half way between the wet zone & the surface? Then hand water for a week or so till the roots get to the wet zone?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes I sow seeds directly under the surface of the media in the damp zone. More often than not I grow seeds in a propagator now days.

I tend to plant corn seedlings, I'm a little cautious of the fungicide that seems to be on all corn seeds you buy. I looked it up once and it said that it's toxic to fish..

I guess I live in hope that the seedlings may have had some of the fungicide wash off already.

I think alot of people would start thier seeds outside of the system, pretty much all of the rest seem to just throws thier seeds into thier bed and not worry where they land.
