What is the story, the silverbeet I harvested tonight tastes like fish water. Has anybody experienced this? Can anything be done about it. Is it a sign that things are not in balance? Maybe I should test my water. My beans and celery are all good no fish S flavour. |

maybe it's just in your mind. a couple things to try: purge the beets before you harvest 
wash in salt water before boiling |

I stir fried the stuff, I haven't noticed it tasting this way previously. no fish water was added to stir fry

Did you add fish sauce to the stir fry? 
The only time I have ever heard that comment before was when Josh was here filming the segment, and he cracked a funny.. But no, I've never really heard of anything really tasting like fish ... Funny video clip below, must have sound.....

I knew it must have been a joke, they were filming a national television gardening show... Though i didn't expect it... He starts to comment at the end as to why he did it.. They had just finished a long shot from where the tripod is, and had moved in to do the close up of him eating.. In the long shot, he'd picked one type of plant and put it in his mouth, then in that take of the close up, he picked a different type of plant with a much different leaf by mistake, so he knew they would have to do it again....

Bloody hell EB, i was about to yank the broad band cable out and rip apart my pc! I was reading the first few posts and the clip started playing (i couldn't see it) it sounded like office chatter and i immediatly thought i had an audio trojan running on my PC. What a sad world we live in
