Dont see why it wouldnt work. Hey maybe you could just buy one bag of clay balls and put them on top or down one end of system. :cheers: Its great to work with.

I reckon once you go the balls you will start saving up for more. Those scoria and blue metal systems wouldnt do much for your knuckles and nails i would think

my garlic is going in clay balls,
maybe make up a half barrel GB with the balls in it so you don't need much to fill your GB

Excellent idea, might just do that..

Be keen to try red onions and garlic but I think the weight of rock would make them deform (like some of the carrot pics I've seen)

I'll make 1 gb up for 50% gravel and 50% clay and see what happens

Garlic will grow in rock media.. I grew some years ago in my pea gravel no problems, I assume scoria would work the same.
