I havnt had much luck growing peas in my AP, but my conventional garden is going great guns

G'day guys, Sorry I don't have a photo but my snow peas, which are only seedling + a month old, have started to develop very black root/stems about 5cm out of the gravel. They were growing very well and quickly, they might still be... but the lower stem looks dead...the leaves in the lower 5cm are brown and shriveled and the stem/root feels thin and sickly. Any ideas? |

No expert but first thing which comes to mind is lack of oxygen. Are you running your beds as constant flood or flood and drain? Do you have an air pump? Can you describe your system setup? Edit: The second thing which comes to mind is a build up if fish waste. How many fish do you have? What size are they? How much filtration do you have? |

At the moment it's constant... not flood and drain... and no air pump in the water - just got the GB draining onto the FT water top, and a valve spraying water back over the top. As for fish - only a few, 6 goldes, 2 koi and some guppies - all small. |

Mine are going good in AP. Although i have a couple of air stones pumping away too... Sorry i cant help more. How far below you media is your water? |

Peas are susceptible to powdery mildew and other fungus... try spraying with milk, or even better... Potassium bicarbonate (Eco-fungicide)... it will not only get rid of the fungus, but also give a Potassium boost. |

I'll try the eco-fungicide if they don't start to come good. Nice work with yours Charlie! Wow! How many plants are there? The water is an inch or two below the surface approx... |
