Has anyone put their aquaponics setup in a shade house or green house as I am having a lots of problems with catapillars destroying everything. Would a green house keep the temperature more constant which would aid fish growth. Can anyone offer any pros and cons of the shade house or green house option Thanks Adam |

I have converted my indoor swimming pool into an aquaponics system. I have installed T8 lights for grow lights and it seams that it has been working all right. I have no issues with any types of bugs yet. And the reason I did this is, Tilapia can not make it through the cold months here. Mymain goal has been to have a continous source of fish for food. The Tilapia's growth has been outstanding. I was told that with 9 months the fish should be about 1.5 lbs, which is decent for human consumption!! And Tilapia is the only fish for food that will produce under these conditions. So, I sure love to see that by end of this year. You can check my system out here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=11892 |
