Hey all,

Anyone now a bug that particularly likes silverbeet? I can't see any actual bugs on the actual plant but within one day something has been feasting just on the silver beet. Everything else is nit touched, the only thing I can think off is that if it's not a bug it has to be some sneaky little bird, gonna be dead soon god damn it.

Even any ideas to deter critters from the garden?

Cheers all

My vote goes to sneaky little birds. I have had zero success with beets because about once per week the finches come to take a bath at the growbeds and rip off the leaves. It takes them only a couple of minutes and they seem to really enjoy this but have managed to elude all my photograph attempts. Beets located further away from the spigot faire slightly better.

My swiss chard is taking a hammering as well, as are the endives. Havent been able to catch the culprits, but have applied dipel and chilli spray.
