What you going to do with it Zed man ? Its only used for stock feed... good if you have chooks In the real world [as opposed to AP, lol ] alfalfa or lucerne as its called here has a tap root of up to 10 meters |

Dammit i just had a look what alfalfa was, I was thinking they were bean sprouts lol. I might grow some to see if the silver perch wants to take a stab at them -_- Apparently its got a high protein (up to 35%) content and soluble fiber. |

The seed is used for salad sprouts... thats prolly where you got the idea. It is one of the highest protein fodders around.. thats why used in race horse feed. |

It is also used as a "green compost", as it is a nitrogen fixing plant in soil. You would not be able to grow enough in AP to get a usable amount. It is also a very low value plant, and your beds would be put to better use growing something more pallatable. I can't imagine that the SP would touch it. It is commonly pelletised, and you could get a small amount of it from a feed store to try for very cheap. Beats tying up a growbed IMO. |
