HI Pappamike
I thought my little entry had disappeared down a wormhole, seemingly not.
No I use rainwater to dilute the molasses. The reason I have not used compost tea with the molasses for some time is that my plants are growing in plastic gullies and the combined tea and molasses left a 'orrible mess on the plastic whereas just using the molasses rainwater mix seemed not to cause any problems.
MY reason for being very interested in this thread is to find a spray that will blast the spider mites without damaging the fish. Have tried some of the well advertised "Spider mite Killer" sprays and they have been as useful as a chocolate teapot. Steves concoction seems to work on his aphids so next spring I shall try it on the spider mites.

Thanks Steve.
I have used up all the missus's tights and stockings straining old paint and stuff so I have to tiptoe round her when I am using her clobber for aqua. She is a good lass and puts up with it.
We strain through the muslin bags she uses for making her herbal ointments and balms so it won't be a problem. We have used comfrey and nettle tea in the past to give the plants a boost with good results but not tried worm casts - so we will give it a go and keep you all informed.
