Well KP if you planted it during the moon phase most favourable 'window' the seeds would have sprouted in 4 days(emerged).

At the end of a waning moon.
...you will be harvesting as you would want to eat it... but let it dry out on the cobb, in the wrapper.

Well since we are on the topic of Corn, my corns have all withered... leaves turned brown... should have taken a photo during the day... anyways, what's wrong with the cob?? I believe all of them are like that... and the leaves are still intact so it cannot be that something has eaten them... at least not something like rats... but maybe worms?? any ideas??

Poor pollenation(SP?)
They need to be planted in a group

Gently shaking the top flowers also helps with pollination... especially if they're protected from wind and/or in a greenhouse...

Well that's a lot of corn... well I will try it out... I will remove the weird looking ones and start again...

I presume this is probably the last month to seed corn?? Did you mention earlier when it was the best time to seed corn?? according to the moon...

Well Rupe, they are certainly not protected from the wind... I had to stake some of them to stop them from being uprooted...

When you tap a fresh flower, esp/ in the morning, before it's been beaten up by the wind, you will see dust falling off the flower. Heaps of dust.
This has to get on the silks of the fresh cobs.
Having them in a bunch allows the wind to knock the plants about, and the dust to fall more easily onto the ears.
Strung out, you're relying on each stalk's flower to pollenate it's own silks, which is difficult, as I corn can't seem to get it's timing very right imho...
I really hope mine are full, this is my first season of corn, and I have much trepidation and fear of images such as you show above.

In regards to corn there is an old saying that when picking walk slowly out to the garden and after selecting your corn race back and cook it! This is because once picked the natural sugars very quickly turn to starches, I believe within 20-30 minutes. Hence my reluctance to ever buy supermarket corn
You should warm corn but never never cook it
Raw corn is extremely tasty
Fresh raw silks are very tasty in salads
