So clipping the runners would stimulate more fruits?? I have lots of runners in my strawberry plant but not a lot of fruit...

its late your forgiven. Interesting experiment your doing with the banana peels. I say if it works for you keep doing it. I however hate bananas but i love kiwi fruit and apparently they have only just slightly less Potasium than a banana. I tried putting some kiwi skins in my GB to fix my growth problems in the early stages but it seemed i had bigger problems. But i'd be interested if other people (with growing grow beds) have tried kiwi fruit or any other high Potasium fruit in their GB's.

clipping the runners hepls to stimulate flowering and hence fruiting. All the energy put into making runners gets put into producing flowers. If you want more strawb plants then let the runners take roots but be sure to allow enough space between plants otherwise they get really really crowed. This is according to Don Burke. I thought it was a load of crap and let my dirt garden strawbs run a few years back. they got too crowed and didn't get as much fruit on them. Now I clip the runners as soon as I see them until the end of the season and then propagate a couple of dozen for the next season. Heaps more flowers and fruit (even with out seasol).
