brackish i believe. very alkaline and "hard" water, yes.

I'm not sure they freeze dry it, they don't do that here, to keep the best nutrious value and keep it somehow "natural process and produce" even with putting mineral fertilisers in the water.
I'll try to contact a farm here and see if I can send you some by mail if you can't get it, wouldn't be straight away but could be done.
Do they scan all the mail before getting it into your big island?
If so i'll have to put it in an essay tube in a metallic tube.
They say in the link you posted, that it can stay alive for a week in an essay tube.

I have 1-2" clear plastic tubing coming to mind. Or acrylic tubes if you want to fork out an arm and a leg....

I want to try it now too! I am going to dump a teaspoon of store bought stuff in some water and see what happens....

Just that I had seeds coming in and fish eggs coming out, while I was downunder 4 years ago, thought it was not that bad and hard.
