Hi there, Im writing from Westafrica.
Im a passionate Coffeedrinker and soon an aquaponic.

Just a short question: I have a poultry farm not far from the westafrican coast (2miles). The climate is quite balanced (between 23°C and 30 °C always) Would it be possible to grow Coffee in such climate?
I know, africa produces coffee, but in the mountains(hills). Here on the coast is not even one bean available on local markets. Just the powder in French supermarches.

Last November I brought 10 coffee beans from Switzerland to plant here (Special beans for growing, not roasted ones) but the seeds didnt even come out. After 10 weeks hoping, I gave up. Thats why I am amazed of your Pictures... I think i kept it to wet. And it work out in aquaponic??

Can You let me know, if it might grow here? Or does it need hardly the cooler nights of the mountainside, like the potatoes?

I would even accept a poorer performance due to "my" climate, but some beans would be great;-)

It is true that coffee prefers cooler climates as found on mountains, but it is native to Ethiopia, and should have no issues on your side of Africa. It was grown in Yemen, which is not known for being cool. In fact the Yemen port of Moka is where our modern term mocha comes from.

Beer is a Mesopotamian and or Egyptian thing, again, you should be able to pull something off. Then again those civilizations that was known for extensive trade, so the barley and hops could have come from afar.
