Hey Beeso, I'll ignore the dirty minds and just answer your question... :D

It didn't do too badly, the heads were of a reasonable size, though some were crowded out a bit and didn't do as well, I've attached a few more pacs taken a couple of days ago, there are some small and medium size broccoli amongst the pics..

The pictures from your system keep us thinking more seriously about why were are working so hard to get our systems going. Beautiful pictures. Joel, I know somewhere in these sites it says, but how many fish tanks do you have to support these plants?

Hope you don't mind me answering for you Joel.
The pic on bottom just shows the one tank that support all the beds shown under cover (5 or 6 beds). I am pretty sure all those pics are beds off that one tank (on this page). The blue barrels to the left are a seperate system. There is seperate stand alone blue barrel one pictured on another page. One single tank/single bed which I think has too much tank and not enought bed, not shown here. And a little single tank single bed and tube also under that same cover, with the tube just visable in bottom left of last photo.

Thanks, I am now setting up grow beds and wondering how many can be supported by one tank.

well i guess if you take to 2:1 volume ratio for max stocking densities you could work it out. some one will be able to tell you the MAX fish density per 1000Lt (my book is still MIA :( ) at this rate it would give you 2x times the fish tank volume for the plant beds. ratio it back down and it will give you the volume of plants per number of fish you have. Sounds complicated but if i had the book infront of me i culd work it out in a sec. anyone?

My understanding, based on what I've read, is that (at the top end) 100kg per 1,000 litres of water is possible. I suspect, however, that your management would need to be very tight at this level.

So joyce, if you had 1000lt tank you could have 120kg fish and 2000lt grow bed.

this comes down to 1.2kg fish per 20lt grow bed. Assuming you have sufficient tank and grow bed voulme its actually the fish to plant ratio

From what Joel has said previously, a lot less stress on thwe system if you stick to around 4-4.5 kg of fish per 100 litres, given twice the volume of grow beds to tank. I am going to have 3700 litres of water and 2000 litres of grow beds to start with, so I reckon I will aim for about 2kg per 100 litres until I add more beds. Am in the process of welding up the second grow bed stand now.
