Yep all that the plants need is light at the two wavelengths that excite the chlorophyll, any other wavelengths are wasted electricity.

Someday we'll use LEDs that have just the exact wavelengths needed for the chlorophyll.

I had thought about using both at the same time - if I were really trying to grow fast indoors I would try that probably. I can only use one bulb at a time though as I only have the one fixture.

To get back to your original query DD.... you could try someting like these.....

New Jiffy Pots in Trays

Can also get various sized coir pots.... very similar to the "Jiffy's"...

Coir Pots


Roots grow through pots and pots themselves are biodegradable... would eventually breakdown even in AP....
