Don't plant Bramhi (brain food) it's about as invasive as mint
Not that I would have planted either of these in my system

It's really helpful to see these pictures of the overgrown mint. Otherwise individuals like myself would be tempted to test stuff like this.

I had an early warning from Affnan when he told me to start my system with mint, that is they're very invasive and can fill out a growbed in no time. Even now, the mint has taken over his asparagus sown growbed. Lucky for me, I have my system set up as a suspended raft kinda thing so the small pots and no availability to water above pot level restrains its growth...

Here is my mint jungle...

Even that, it still tries to grow roots through the 2-3mm gap that exist between the styrofoam and the GB wall...what a plant...

Contain both the roots and the stems. If a stem flops over, it will start rooting, both in water and in a grow bed.

Exactly, you've got to find it a container of its own.

On another note, I keep trimming these mints about every 3-4 weeks but after 4 harvests with a small pot (85mm diameter) they just couldn't bounce back easy so what I do is to pull them out on the 4th harvest then take a few cuttings from the harvest and start all over again.

I put some in the fish tank. Just hang it over the side with the roots in the water. Works well.
