I have seen in multiple posts and in other media sources that peppers perform fairly well in 'ponics. But, I don't see much regarding the edibility of peppers.

Does anyone know if the taste and/or heat from peppers grown in this fashion suffers? Just because a plant does well, it may not produce well. I know this as peppers I grew in the ground where I used to live were bitter and rarely had much heat, even when using a strain that should have heat.

Anyone have experience?

I grew several types of hot peppers and bell peppers and the taste was much cleaner and the hot peppers were a little hotter..... the bell peppers were much sweeter... these were grown over the winter in my greenhouse..

I have Serrano plant growing on my 10 gallon indoor system for the past year or so. They are tasty and have heat. No loss that I could tell.

I'm so jealous of anyone that can grow peppers well. Bugs ALWAYS attack mine. Plus I'm not that good at growing plants. Even with iron and maxicrop I still don't get them to grow well.

Someone just gave me a ghost chili plant the other day (suppose to be one of the hottest chili plants ever). I'm going to try and grow that one.

let us know the results of your ghost chilis. I'll post mine, I'm going to transfer it to my AP system this weekend. Fingers crossed it doesn't die!!

There are local mexican restaurants going crazy for the ghost chilis. They pay a good price for them.

OK, plant is now in the AP system. Crossing my fingers.

Planted a few marigolds around it to keep away bugs.

Thanks for the heads up Timmy... Though I will probably give it a miss seeing I'm not much of a chili fan... Love growing them, just not eating them.

Are you going along Chillidude?

My peppers/capsicums only came good after the system was 6months old. Dunno if it was the season or the new system. Next year will tell.

Isn't that often a sign of too many nutrients (for some reason, too much N sticks in my head)? Great green leafy growth but low fruiting?
