Time to experiment..
I know Daniel Willett at Bridie Island Aquaculture Research Centre had a project to automate the harvesting and drying of rapidly-growing duckweed (Aquaponic Journal Issue #43).

Will try a small batch blending and extruding to 4mm and partly drying, then cutting to pellet size and then dry for safe storage.

An alternative is to freeze the duckweed...put it in an ice cube tray to make it in to nice sized cubes and then toss those into the fish tank as required or store in a zip lock bag in the freezer (no need to worry about drying then)

I think the problem with pelletising may be that duckweed will dry to something like 5% of its original weight I think - so not sure this would work well.

Good luck though LB, will watch with keen interest. I rckon the go would be to have nearly fully tried before pelletising, or dry fully and then add semething like a bit of eggwhite to bind for pelletising.

what are you guys using to turn it into pellets?

some sort of mincer I expect.

A bit of pipe, a hopper and an air compressor!!!! Homemade mini sausage machine.

How about a potato ricer or a pasta extruder?

so far the ice cube sounds like the least painless solution ...also the least likliest to bore you shitless over the longterm and with the least energy expenditure..which to me somes up the idea of AP
