I've been trolling this forum for along time. I have no fishies and no place to grow at this time, but I did manage a hydroponic greenhouse for a long time. Alot of my energy was spent trialing veggies at different times of the year. Even different varieties of the same veg's. I have seen alot of difficulties on this site that may be explained simply by the wrong veg at the wrong time. I live in central Texas under harsh temps that even my USA brothers to the north don't understand. But I did serve (military exercises) with some Aussies, and understand that some of our climates are as difficult. Maybe some outside/greenhouse temps would help in the diagnosis. Say maybe 100F as to why no fruit is setting. This may not make sense, but I've seen a difference of 20F result in failure or success of a crop. I'll try to convert to celcius in the future.

Hi CT and welcome,
I am very guilty of this, I think the reason has been to get as much plant growth as possible to control the nute levels, then worry about whether it is the right time of the year.

Now I am passed HSM  , I have done a plant calendar pertaining to my area and planning my GB plantings accordingly

CT- there has been a lot of discussion about the key elements, in a way ..the path of least resistance..

Moon Phases, seasonality(new word), Temps for fish and veg, and the local influence.

So fish for table grow out in a season and can bare minimal extrmes.
Minimising human interference- you know, make it warmer use a heater.
Grow cold water fish before and during winter etc.

Also, a bit talk of using ground soil temps as heat sinks/thermal heat gain.

Have fun with BYAP it is great!!

Coming up to full moon tomorrow morning, so no more leaf or fruit veggies for another couple of weeks

Time to plant root veggies come Monday

Yep C1, working them out and planting with the phase
