I am hoping to grow tomatoes and bell peppers in my AP setup, but just realized that indoors = no bees and such for pollination. I'm not a biologist - will the fruits still grow without the bugs there to cross-polinate? Or should I help my plants hook up with a Q-tip?

Thanks!

I'd be thinking you'd have to give the plants a helping hand to pollinate indoors.

Just agitate the plant when you tend to it on a daily basis. So just gently shake it to help the pollen disperse.

Oscillating fan on a timer (1 hour in AM and PM of your light cycle) works well for my indoor tomatoes and peppers. I also have a humidity problem and the fans help to dry things just a little. Gently shaking the plant worked just as well or better. Still need to hand pollinate stuff with separate male/female flowers (Zucs, melons, etc).

If you really want to toy it up, inexpensive electric toothbrushes closely approximate the buzz frequency that bumblebees use to liberate tomato pollen. Two to three seconds per flower.
