My system is still cycling and I put some veggies in on the weekend.
Today when i checked them Some of the plants have brownish leaves towards the bottom and a couple look like something is eating the leaves.
What could this be and how could I treat it?

I think we need some more info to assist. Pictures always help too.

What type of system design do you have.
What plants have you got.
Are they seedlings.
What are your water parameters.
What are your temps.
What feed are you using.
Aeration?


Ill take a punt and suggest maybe the poor growth/brownish leaves are due to PH and nutrient defficiency and catapillars are munching down on the seedlings. Just a punt and if Im right I will award myself with a cold beer

Or they could be damping off due to the flood level being too high... or perhaps even just transplant shock...

Its fun to guess but Im usually wrong 90% of the time lol

The best part of guessing.. is the thought that you might be wrong... but doing it anyway... coz it's a guess... and doesn't matter...

Ill try to put some photos up this arvo.
Im fishless cycling using charlie carp and its a constant flood ibc system.
I did lower the height of the water on sunday afternoon as my seedlings were sinking a little bit so maybe thats been part of the problem?
What can i spray the caterpillars with?
