I believe she means bat poo. It is a popular fertilizer for soil. I would be redisent to try it in AP, but it is probably composted already.

There are plenty of speciality indoor growing websites (if you get what I mean) and pest problems like thrip and spider mite indoors are quite common so don't discount them too quickly. Still, a healthy plant is more resistant to attack from mold or insects.

Stop adding "products", feed your fish...

I used an organic liquified cmpost solution. My ph is also back up to 8.4. I am using clay pellets and there is nothing else to buffer the system. Tap water is 7.0 for ph. Any suggestions? Going down to the river and nabbing some driftwood?

Do you have anything in the tank that would raise your PH? I made the mistake of using a very alkaline concrete block to raise my pump off the tank bottom.

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but can't the ph of tap water shift after it settles. Somehow affected by oxygen levels?

Tap water can offgas Carbon Dioxide... giving a false pH reading....

Test your source water.. after letting it sit for several hours... to get a true reading...

I'll change out part of the water again this weekend. I have two aerators, a pump and the growbed of clay pellets and that's it, very simple. I'll let some tap water sit overnight and test that and I'll not add anymore of the "bat poo" to the tank.

Something's gotta show its head, I did not have any issues when I had trout. :p

Don't fret too much about ph, supplementing with iron should compensate for the added difficulty of absorbing the iron. Many people's systems just have a high ph. I know for myself, my ph tends to in high. US water is just rather alkaline.
