for growth. Even though we have a winter crop in it just seems to take so long. Not at all like summer. For the first time in years I am really looking forward to Summer and AP is to blame.

So how is your winter crop?

Celery is rocketing, rocket is growing and starting to flower, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbages putting on more leaves and herbs, lettuce and silverbeet being picked regularly. Eggplants growing slowly, but lots of them. Just planted more seeds and thinking of culling lots of celery in stages for the chooks and dehydrator. Trout, bless them are going great guns, no bugs (dammit) really low maintenance at the moment, just feed and pick. Better than the frost bitten outdoor gardens at the moment. At least the days are getting longer now and the sun is coming up earlier :flower:

Bok choy grew quick but all gone now, SP seem to like to eat it.

Celery and beetroot going strong and I still have tomatoes producing fruit so I topped them and hopefully they will ripen.

Peas and beans growing slowly

I have a Gooseberry which is growing slowly from seed, not surprising given I should have waited until spring

SLOW. Very slow. Water temps at 4 degrees and the plants don't really like their roots being near frozen.
