Hi folks, apart from having two trout jump out of the pond (1 becoming dogfeed) an losing 1 to an ammonia spike, they have been excellent. My problem now I believe is water temp..all test results are good and well inside parameters, But i have had two trout go "blotchy and pale looking" as well as being slower than the rest. The 1000Ltub is under my patio and in shade 3/4 of the day. For the last 5-6 days I have been adding ice to the system just before lunch to knock off a few degrees highest temp 23 averages about 20 Ice pulls it back to 17-18 does this sound right? any ideas... cheers .. should i be looking for barra now?? |

My advice would be "time to harvest, before it's too late". Maybe even put in some yabbies to clean up the tank between fish, they taste yummy too. We got some nice sized Barramundi from Golden Ponds today. |

Thought as much.. look out fish, the big scissors are coming. Might grab a handfull of marron and 5 or so big silvers until the new pond is up. |
