Hi all One of my jade perch started out with a very small white spot on his side which has quickly developed into what looks like an infected ulcer. I have taken the fish out of the tank and salted the area then placed the fish into a hospital tank that is salted 5g/l. This looks like some sort of flesh eating bacterial infection. Any advise would be appreciated. The fish may have injured itself on something and then the laceration became infected. No other fish seem to be affected, all water parameters are spot on. Does anyone know what this might be, i don't hold much hope for the fish because of how rapid it spread, tripled in size over three days.

Bite marks. Fish do tend to clean up anything different. Not sure on how jade treat sick fish. |
