Hi All,

One of my Koi fish has something wrong with her mouth. A part of her mouth looks bigger than the other part. Either half her mouth is swollen or something else that I know nothing about. I checked water.

Ammo - 0 PPM
Nitrite - 0 PPM
Nitrates - 20 PPM

For now I have put her in another tank, just to check her behavior. She is fast and wants to eat as much as she can. So I guess I didn't notice any dull behavior.

See these pics and you will see a part of her mouth bigger than the other.

Any help is appreciated.

Shifted her to QT she is acting normal except her swollen mouth.

Please come back and at least let us know if you find a better forum on aquaponics.

Regarding the Koi, I've never kept them before, but before I saw your picture the first
thing that came to mind when you mentioned a swollen mouth was that she swam
right into a wall, or some other obstruction in the tank. When the picture showed up
I thought that is not probably what bumping into the wall would look like.

Anyway, good luck. Perhaps a Koi forum would have a better answer. This one claims
