so I come home today to find almost all my 18 month old tilapia dead. 46 have passed ten still alive along with 6 gold fish and 2 algae eaters they appear to be doing fine. checked all levels two days ago and they were fine. ammonia 0 nitrites 0 and nitrate 20. Can anyone tell me what could have happened? their eyes were crystal clear and gills are red in color |

Do you have a picture of them? Were gills wide open? Mouths wide open? Splotches on them? Cotton wool substance? Little white spots all over them? Sunken bellies? |

What's the aeration like in your system? |

I think Colum is on the right track. With most group fish kills, it's something like oxygen, temperature or toxicity and probably not a disease (it can happen but it's rare that they'd all die at once). |

guys thanks that's what I am thinking watched the pump today and seen that it would pump for a little bit then quit. |
