This Mirror Carp has been in the tank about four weeks.
All water reading are good. Ph 7.3 Am<0.1 No2 zero No3 10. This has risen in the last two weeks from zero but expected as I have been harvesting brassicas.
Water temperature is in the range 15-17*c Good oxygenation although I do not have a DO meter.
Tank was initially salted to 1PPT when fish introduced. Some sign of flashing about two week ago so salinity increased to 2-3 ppt. They seemed to have settled down and were feeding again.. All seemed good.
Five dead in the last two days.
No sign of ICH but difficult with Mirrors. Eyes seemed cloudy.
Today I managed to isolate and photo this one.
About one week ago I bought Canna Mono Iron. A moderate dose is 1:1100.
I have about 1400 liters but only added one liter. Water duly tuned reddish as expected.
Did the addition of this Iron supplement cause the fish problems?

Hi Titus,
I've just had a big fish kill of 260 fingerlings (50-80mm) SP and MC, and from what I can see that pic looks very similar to the "ich"/stress/cloudy eye problem I had. A light build up of loose mucus over their body was also present on the majority of them.. One thing I did notice was that the bigger fish that died developed the odd patch on their body, and ive read that this is a sign of stress, I removed my fish to salt which could have added to the problem. My fish didn't die all at once, it was 20-25 a day until they were all gone..

My ammonia levels also rose during this but I put that down to dead fish in the FT overnight before I was able to remove them.

I wish you the best with treating your fish and am interested how you get on..
