I got upset that the fish weren’t growing as quick as they should be, so I have pulled them inside once more. You can do that when you think like me. There is nothing like a good backup plan, yes the nine big fat goldfish have rejoined the silver perch in the IBC. After numerous attempts to get my water at higher temperatures during this bloody colder than usual spring! (global warming my ass) I have decided the fish come first, as they look so yummy. As my nitrate levels were in the 90ppm even after planting more plants, I had but little choice, roll on summer so the boys can go back out and play,

So how long can four 300mm barra last in a 200ltr aquarium?

No that was to warm up the tank, and the ironic thing is its worked. Well sort off? The FT temp is up to 25deg today, the bad news is I moved the Barra indoors last night. The other bad news is after all the playing around with my pipes, I ended up with a serious leak overnight. I lost over 400ltrs off bloody good cycled water, I am about to do another test on my system water. I had 40 to 80ppm nitrate yesterday. So I added water slowly in three shifts shutting down the grow beds I cycled between the fish tank and sump tank, after an hour I put the grow beds in action for two cycles. So I have added about 300ltrs so far. Can you imagine the shock I had when going to feed the fish I saw the pump sucking air?
:( :dontknow:

The Barra are happy again in the aquarium. Trying to keep the temp at 26deg. Just fed them and one of them tried to eat my fingers as I put the food in.
And the pipe change has made a difference. Now the temp in the fish tank is only 1deg cooler than the sump tank.
