I recently got a new batch of yellow perch (~30lbs). They are still in a quarantine tank awaiting to go into my aquaponic system. I have noticed that many of my perch have really cloudy eyes and are slightly bulging. The quarantine tank was not cycled when I added the fish, but I have kept up with daily water changes to keep the levels under control. I am in Indiana where the pH is always high (~8-8.2 ppm). The person we bought the fish from said he has always raised them in Indiana tap so we are doing the same. Any ideas as to why this is happening? I couldn't find much research on the internet. Any suggestions are appreciated as I am fairly new to hobby as a whole, and this is my first time raising edible fish. I have always stuck to Koi and goldfish in the past.

i've had that problem with a few.. water quality is the most likely culprit, but cloudy eyes can be caused by a ph drop, have your parameters changed a lot?
how big is your tank, and what kind of filtration are you using?
how many fish in your 30lbs?
