I built an IBC system with 2 grow beds coming off of one tank. I added 25 hybrid bluegills and 25 perch. I have been feeding them the feed that the hatchery was feeding them. I have noticed that the pellets are not floating, and it seems that after the pellets sink, the fish are hoarding them in a corner of the IBC. I have been removing the uneaten pellets but am concerned that the fish are not eating anything. I am feeding them twice a day, morning and evening. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

When you say 2 GBs how big are they? Are these wild fish or hatchery fish that are use to being fed? In any case welcome and good luck. |

The two grow beds are IBC cutoffs about 42 inches by 48 inches by 12 inches deep. The fish came from a hatchery. Water tests are showing nothing abnormal and now the water is clouding up a bit. We are at day two and none are dead or showing signs of stress that I can see. I am probably a nervous nelly right now because like everyone here (I hope) I want to have success with this. |

What's the weather like over there? Fingerlings tend to stop showing interest in feeding in the colder months. Try not feeding them for 24hrs and see if they come back on. Depending on their size and the water temp, you could be feeding them too much. |

Weather here is actually just getting warm. Daytime temps in the upper 70s to low 80 F. Overnight dropping to 50's F. Got home today and they seem more active. I am just going to keep monitoring and hope for the best. I am using the fact that they are all still alive as a good sign I haven't screwed anything up too badly yet. |
