Had my raintank water tested recently, it has 0.15 mg/L of zinc. Does anyone know what levels are toxic to silver perch and trout at a ph of 6? (Assuming fairly soft water)

Trout fry - 0.04, Silver Perch - 0.05 mg/L
Water temperature, pH and presence of other ions will have some influence though.

Depends on how old the trout are, but this is interesting- esp the bit about lethal temp being 27-29C ... which would mean I could have kept my trout over summer.

Thanks Gav - guess I won't be using my rainwater for top ups then - seems too risky given that it may be 3 times the toxicity level! Wonder if there are any cheap ways to remove/bind the zinc to a non toxic form.
