Has anybody ever heard of the product Wonder Shells and could it be used in an AP system? They also sell a medicated version any thoughts on these two products? http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com ... Shell.html heres a site that sells and tells about them... |

I don't know much about them, but from skimming the page I had to flag a couple claims as pseudoscience and a couple others as simply incorrect. It may still be a useful product, but I think you could achieve the same with calcium carbonate and sea salt. |

Don't get the medicated ones for sure, because you don't want aquarium chemicals in any food you raise in your AP system. Sounds like you could get the same chemicals with baking soda, shell grit, and Epsom salt. In general folks use shell grit for calcium in AP systems. |
