Hi guys, I'm new to aquaponics. This is my first time doing this, and I am using mixed ornamental fishes (Goldfish, angel fish, guppies and some other fishes) for my trial and I am also just growing cucumbers. Just today, my friend who gave me my fishes pointed out that one of my fish has got a parasite stuck under a fin. he scooped out the fish and removed the parasite by hand. he said that next time something like that happened, to just pour a bit of methylene blue into the tank and it should be fine. what I would like to know is that:

1. Would my plants be ok with methylene blue?
2. How do I prevent parasites in the future?

My system has been running for about 2 weeks. So its quite new.
