| Post subject: | Trout not eating |
I picked up my trout on sunday got them in the tank and they all seem happy. The only problem is they aren't eating. The only thing I could think might be possible is the water is green so I thought they could be eating the slime. water readings this morning were PH-6.4, AMM-0, Nitrate- 0. I have the tank covered with shade cloth now so hoping the green goes away. Also the fish aren't on the surface gasping so I figure they are happy with the amount of oxygen in the water, I do have the pipework set up for a venturi as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Where did you buy them from? Lots of people (including me) are having similar issues: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16390 |

Thanks. I thought the algae might of been the problem. does the PH seem to low should I do something with that or that's fine. I got the fish from rupertofoz, we are a long way from you so I doubt they have came from the same hatchery. |

Yeah, definitely not from the same hatchery... Keep the tank covered and aerated... and get rid of the algae..... pH isn't a problem at the moment.... but watch it once you do start feeding... |
