My water has a green tint from algae will putting an uv light in the tank destroy the bacteria the plants in the growbed need?I have had my tilapia for about 6 weeks.Recently about 10 out of 50 have died. All water parameters test good.I cant think of any other reason the fish may be dying.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Do I need to add salt of any kind to my tank.
Thanks,
mark

The algae is not killing them, I have 2 tanks of tilapia that are in green water (algae) and they are doing great. There is some other issue killing them, maybe low oxygen, maybe metal in your water. What is your grow bed media, and do you have ANY metal in the water that is not stainless steel?
