Post subject:  Sudden Goldfish Death

I have a large 40 gallon tank with 3 fish in it. One is a common goldfish, the other a shubunkin, and the third a very small koi. I've had the first two about three years now and recently had surgery. Apparently yesterday one died followed by one this morning. No one alerted me to this or else I could have saved them all. The odd thing is following death the fish's mouth is wide open and his whole body deteriorated faster than I've ever seen. Along with the fact that my father who I had put in charge while I couldn't take care of them put his bare hands in. Which is horrifying to me.

I am pretty sure it's due to the fact that he is refusing to put on the ac and the tank is feeling pretty hot. But the deterioration is what is getting me as I usually don't see them fall apart that fast. Also, with my father's "Way" of fish handling I am wondering if he might have damaged them. I also am missing two white clouds so I am hoping his recent aquascaping didn't let them jump out of the tank or get buried underneath rocks. On hindsight I probably should have forced myself out of bed and taken care of them myself. These fish means alot. I've had them for over three years. It would mean a lot if anyone could guess what the heck is happening as I am terrified my koi will suffer the same fate.

Got pics? Also what filtration/aeration do you have? Are the remaining fish mouthing at the surface? Warm temps will drop the 02 pretty quick

I don't have any pics atm; I had a 50 gallon filter cycling the tank. None of the fish have been mouthing at the surface thankfully. Swim patterns are relatively normal and they seem pretty active once I put them into a hospital tank with cool water. I noticed one fish had frayed fins just like the one fish that died and decomposed really fast. So I am treating the remaining fish with fungicides for fin rot since apparently alot of people are having this problem in the area.
