It goes without saying that am in complete sympathy with your fish loss!
I'm not going to get any more fish until my system is fully cycling, functioning and backed up! with heaps of DO (DO meter is next major purchase!) and then a period of settling.

Yea, full time air (on separate circuit than pump) is a good idea for many reasons.

Bummer man!!!!!! Especially as you had raised them up for so long.
